Gingersnaps

A traditional cookie, but who doesn't love a gingersnap cookie? These ones are made extra yummy with fresh grated ginger. Baking some of these today to keep those lunch boxes full!

Main Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 Egg 

2 tbsp fresh grated ginger or 1 tbsp dried ginger

2 tsp baking soda

1 cup white sugar

3/4 cup butter

1/4 cup molasses

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 F.

Step 2: Cream together butter, egg and white sugar. Add grated ginger.

 

Step 3: Add molasses and mix well.

Step 4: Add flour, baking soda,salt and cinnamon. Mix dough well.

Step 5: Roll dough into balls and then roll in white sugar.

 

Step 6: Place on a cookie sheet.

Step 7: Bake 10-12 minutes.
