Super Easy Crock Pot Chili
Ever have one of those days where you just know the whole day is going to be busy and you won't have time to prepare a decent meal? Yeah..me neither;). For those of you who DO have days like that now and then, here is a super easy recipe to try. Make it up in the morning in about 30 minutes and put it in the crock pot to simmer for as long as you need to. We like to eat our chili with a bun and some shredded cheddar cheese.
Main Ingredients
2 lbs ground beef
3 mild Italian sausages
2 cups salsa
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 can kidney beans ( with liquid)
1 can mushrooms ( with liquid)
medium yellow onion
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
Preparation
Step 1: In a medium saucepan sauté onions until tender. Set aside.
Step 2: Scramble fry ground beef until no pink remains. Add to onion.
Step 3: Cook sausages in fry pan. Cut into 1/2 inch thick coin slices. Add to ground beef.
Step 4: Place meat and onion mix in crock pot. Add remaining ingredients.
Step 5: Make sure to add the liquid from the beans and mushrooms. Mix well with wooden spoon.
Step 6: You can add more chili powder to taste.
Step 7: Cook in crock pot on low for 6 hours.
